Low Level and Forest Walks
These gentle walks often don't involve long climbs but can still take you to the most spectacular places - just without the effort of going up a hill!
These walks offer the tranquility of forest and riverside landscapes or rugged views of moorland and mountainside. There are numerous low-level walks within Lochaber. The Great Days Out listed are just a taster of what you can do.
Many forest walks take place on Forestry Commission land. The Commission produces useful leaflets and guides, available at tourist information centres. Low-level and forest walks give you a flavour of the area without taking a lot of time. And a day spent walking along the river in Glen Nevis or by the side of Loch Sheil, can be just as rewarding as seeing the areas from the mountains!.
