From the fun of a traditional highland games to simply sharing the craic in a friendly bar, there is plenty of entertainment to enjoy in Lochaber.
Highland Games
A main event on the calendar is the Lochaber Games, usually held every July in Fort William. Watch piping, highland dancing, heavies events (such as caber tossing) and much more. There are several smaller games around Lochaber, including Glengarry Games and the Glenfinnan Gathering.
Music
Many pubs and hotel bars hold live music nights, particularly on a Saturday where there can be a good choice from traditional music to new local bands. Pick up a copy of the ‘What's On’ guide for details of what’s coming up.
Community events
Community centres throughout the region play host to a vast array of productions from renowned theatre groups to top Scottish bands. Venues in Strontian, Arisaig, Mallaig, Morar, Glencoe, Glenuig and Fort William provide quality entertainment in the most intimate of atmospheres. Glenuig in particular is renowed by the performers as one of the best places to play in Scotland.
